More Effort Needed In Recycling Says Matthew Samuda

Minister without portfolio in the Ministry Of Economic Growth And Job Creation, Matthew Samuda says Jamaica needs to more aggressively tackle recycling and solid waste management. He was speaking during an environmental forum hosted in Costa Rica recently. The need to restore Jamaica’s ocean health through removing plastic waste and other litter was reinstated by Minister Mathew Samuda at the forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The minister without portfolio in the ministry of economic growth and job creation represented Jamaica in Costa Rica where solid waste management featured highly. Samuda is insisting that countries follow through on environmental commitments made during significant forums.  However to do this, financial support from major entities is key. Samuda also called attention to seemingly minor environmental issues that will grow into detrimental problems.
