Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fitz Bailey says forty-five thousand, five hundred and ninety murders have been recorded in the country since Jamaica gained independence. Bailey asserts that the lack of respect citizens has for each other, plays into the nation’s violent nature. He went further to criticize what he calls the get-rich-quick syndrome, which is permeating the entire society.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner says the country must recover from this crime predicament, noting that the capacity to do so is far from impossible. He was speaking at the graduation at the Prospect College in St Ann. More details below:
