‘More Than 72 % of Jamaicans Oppose Politician Salary Hike’

According to research consultant Dr. Paul Bourne, over 70% of Jamaicans are against the recent salary increase of over 200% given to the political class. Dr. Bourne conducted a survey across all parishes, sampling over 2,200 individuals. The majority of parishes expressed disapproval in the range of 70%, with the exception of two parishes.

To allow a pay rise of over 200 per cent appeared worse than many imagined. Research Consultant Dr Paul Bourne says an independent study conducted last month shows most Jamaicans disapproved of the move. Watch the report:
