Motorcyclists accounted for the most road fatalities recorded in 2022, motorcyclist and founder of Back to Basics Motorcycle Safety Mission, Tarik Kiddoe says the number of road fatalities in Jamaica can be reduced if reckless drivers are held accountable.
He notes in the event of road accidents motorcyclists are often treated unfairly. This after a fatal crash on Sunday in Junction, St Elizabeth where closed circuit television footage (CCTV) captured a motorcyclist colliding with a motor vehicle that appeared to be turning in the same direction.
While reacting to the video Kiddoe says careful consideration must be taken about the safety of motorcyclists as well. Meanwhile, the motorcyclist says he anticipates the new Road Traffic Act provides equity to all road users.
