Charges have since been laid against one of two men caught on camera breaking the locks to the dam head bridge leading to the Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine recently.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the motorists who were observed on camera breaking the lock should be held accountable. The men reportedly broke the locks in an attempt to cross the flooded bridge. During his address to the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Prime Minister Holness in describing the act as reprehensible says it must not be tolerated. Holness explains gates should remain closed once authorized during adverse weather conditions.
He says the behaviour should not be condoned, as it places not only the lawbreaker at risk but every other citizen who traverses that area. More here:
