Director of the National Integrity Action (NIA) Dr. Trevor Munroe is expressing disappointment at the Minister of Finance’s refusal to apologize over recent controversial remarks.
He says, while the Minister’s allowed to justify the terms under which he used the nickname, he should have also withdrawn his statement and apologized. Minister of Finance Dr. Nigel Clarke has refused to apologize or recant his use of the words “Massa Mark”,in reference to Opposition Leader, Mark Golding.
A position that has left the director of the NIA Dr. Trevor Munroe expressing disappointment. Professor Munroe notes Golding’s apology for his poor choice of words and member of Parliament Dr Angela Brown Burke’s withdrawal of her unparliamentary remarks. Dr. Monroe says having brought the parliament into disrepute, and not apologizing is simply unacceptable. Watch the report:
