Vendors at the Musgrave Market in Portland are urging authorities to provide an update on the restoration of the market, which was ravaged by fire nearly seven months ago. With the holiday season approaching, concerns are growing among vendors. In May, parts of the market were destroyed by fire, initially sparking speculation of an arson attack. However, local government official Desmond McKenzie dismissed this after an investigation by the Jamaica Fire Brigade, JFB.
In the absence of the market’s facilities, vendors have resorted to using the outskirts to sell their goods, but they now face challenges dealing with the elements. This situation has amplified their call for authorities to address their pressing needs. Watch the report:
