National Health Fund Workers Interdicted For Spoiled Vaccines

Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton has confirmed that several employees at the National Health Fund have been interdicted after nearly 300 hundred thousand vaccines spoiled due to a refrigeration issue. Dr. Tufton says the ministry brought in an independent auditing firm to assess the challenges and recommend ways to prevent a repeat. 

The disclosure was made today during the standing finance committee meeting. The Health Minister says an independent audit is underway into the circumstances under which some 300 thousand doses of various vaccines were discarded following an issue with the fund’s refrigeration system.  Minister Tufton told the committee, several workers have been interdicted following the breakdown. 

Meanwhile, Dr. Tufton told the standing finance committee, a review of the National Health Fund is underway. He says it will see to the composition of funds in the next 3 to 5 years.
