“You are the future” is the theme for the 2022 National Youth Service Program. Prime Minister Andrew Holness addressed hundreds of participants at the Manning’s School in Westmoreland, where the event was launched.
The Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development’s Youth Summer Employment Programme was launched Friday at the Manning’s School in Westmoreland. The program will cater to young people ages 17 to 24. Since its inception, over 27,000 Jamaican youths have benefited from the program.
Speaking at the event Local Government Minister Desmond Mckenzie noted the purpose of the program is to assist young people to matriculate into the working world. The Minister also highlighted that 90 percent of the services offered in Jamaica come through the Local Government Ministry. He notes the employment program now has additional components.
