After 4 days of construction, the Bourne Gardens preschool and kindergarten in Linstead, St. Catherine is complete. Thanks to the joint efforts of theFood for the Poor Jamaica and Canada, Helping Hands Jamaica, and other volunteer groups that seek to provide more comfortable spaces and improved educational conditions for students.
Construction Services Manager at Food for the Poor Jamaica, Oraine Benson says the handing over ceremony represents a continuation of the group’s mandate to help the nation’s children reach their full potential.
Benson says the residents have been instrumental in the construction. He notes the construction includes every necessary space that will make students’ experience more comfortable. Principal, Talbert Gordon says he’s grateful for the donation given the increase in student registration for the fast-approaching new school year. Watch the report:
