The parish of St. Ann is bursting at the seams with the influx of people and the numerous activities taking place, that’s according to the Mayor, Michael Belnavis who appeared on CVM LIVE‘S Minister Monday feature.
Belnavis attributed the successes of the parish to the people, who he says are working together as a team.
He points out that the parish is the number one resort town, however like much of the island it is being hampered by crime.
He explains that there is a level of understanding between the Municipal Corporation, the Police and the Public.
Mayor Belnavis points out that new housing and hotels are being streamlined for this year.
Also, there are plans to expand the town of Ocho Rios and for the Llandovery thoroughfare, there are at least ten new hotel sites being plotted.
Mayor Belnavis will be hosting a benevolent ball on January 25, in an aim to raise funds for the Regional Hospital in St. Anns Bay and the Infirmary.
