A raft of increases and changes are to come on June 1 for private security guards in Jamaica. Several of the new figures and improved allowances were outlined in Parliament by the Labour Minister on Tuesday.
Labour Minister Karl Samuda on Tuesday announced new rates for security guards that will take effect as of June 1; after weeks of protests and contention between private firms and the guards recently transitioned from contract workers to employee status.
