No Gangsters: PM Condemns Politicians Who Are Affiliated With Gangsters

A Councilor for the Montego Bay Central Division said in the media earlier this week that he interacts with known criminals.

And though his interaction aims to steer criminals into a more positive way of life and is not an uncommon approach for Christians, it seems contrary to what Prime Minister Andrew Holness said that under no circumstance should Politicians rub shoulders with criminals in his speech at Olympic Gardens Police Station on Wednesday.

Mr. Holness who is the Member of Parliament for Olympic Gardens also addressed the reason for withholding the names of gangs and criminals from the press stating that often, the gang members thrive off of the attention and he will not quench their thirst.

Since the start of 2021 St. Andrew West Central has recorded 15 murders and 22 shootings to date however Prime Minister Holness showed the murder statistics in 2010 when the murder tally was 9 murders with a total of 34 shootings while comparing it to 2009 with 43 murders.
