The Noel Maitland case was heard in the Supreme Court on Monday. However, the proceedings were again delayed due to outstanding documents. Constable Noel Maitland who’s been implicated for the murder of 24-year-old social media influencer Donna Lee Donaldson, returned to the home Circuit Court on Monday for another case hearing.
In his last appearance on February 9, of this year, all outstanding documents were scheduled to be submitted and filed before June 12, 2023. However, the hearing, failed to proceed after the court heard that three statements were still outstanding. Two of the statements are to be collected from two policemen while the other is to be collected from a security guard, who the court heard is yet to be located. The judge ordered that the statements be submitted to the prosecution and disclosed to the defence on or before October 20. Donaldson was last seen with Maitland on July 11, 2022, and was reported missing on July 13. The police believe she was killed on July 12. Constable Maitland has been in custody since July 27.
In the meantime, Maitland’s plea and case management hearing was postponed to November 1.
