Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Desmond McKenzie announced the employment of an additional five hundred (500) sweepers at the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA). He issues a warning to the commercial sector regarding proper waste management.
Speaking at the House of Representatives, he says these additional workers will complement the NSWMA’s existing workforce. Labour is a necessary addition to their team. In addition to human resources, the NSWMA has also received physical resources to aid in the effective workflow.
Finally, Minister McKenzie shared that this initiative was necessary to assist in the country’s cleaning drive. He says the Christmas season is more exposed to solid waste upsurge and asserts that there will be punitive measures for improper waste disposal.
