On Friday the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) and Lasco awarded and crowned the nurse of the year for 2022/23. The award ceremony was welcomed by Health Minister, Dr Christopher Tufton, after the two-year hiatus. The Health Minister lauded the nurses at the NAJ and Lasco 2022/23 Nurse of the Year Award.
Dr Tufton underscores the great value of Jamaica’s nurses, who worked assiduously throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The award ceremony on Friday, concluded activities for National Nurses Week 2022, under the theme ‘Nurses: A Voice To Lead – Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health’.
Executive Chairman and Founder of the Lasco affiliated companies, Lascelles Chin, expressed his gratitude for the NAJ’s efforts during the heights of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Nurse Manager at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital, Alicia Adamson, who won the Nurse of the Year Award, says she will continue to be the best ambassador she can for local nursing. Watch the report below:
