The National Workers Union, NWU, met with the management of the National Water Commission, NWC, following the threat of a three-day strike by workers recently.
The potential 72-hour strike threat by workers of the National Water Commission appears to be addressed in an organized manner, as stated by Granville Valentine, the General Secretary at the National Worker’s Union of Jamaica. During an interview with CVM Live on Tuesday, Valentine mentioned that a meeting took place on Monday, which paved the way for negotiations. He further stated that a response from the Ministry of Finance is anticipated regarding this issue. Watch the report:
