The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) has declared January as Earthquake Awareness Month. To promote earthquake readiness, a month-long campaign titled ‘Drop, Cover, Hold: Earthquake Readiness is Within Our Control’ was launched on Sunday. ODPEM has planned a series of events and activities throughout January, including an official launch at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in Kingston and an Earthquake Awareness Exhibition at parish libraries across the island.
