One noteworthy highlight emerged from the review of this year’s Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examination results, which led Minister Williams to conclude that the nation is recovering from the setbacks of learning loss caused by the pandemic. In presenting the results, Minister Williams explained that this year, the ministry adopted a five-year comparison approach. She described this method as providing a more comprehensive and accurate perspective, allowing for a safe assessment of the nation’s academic performance both before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Regarding examination registrations, Minister Williams confirmed that the nation is currently performing slightly better than it was in 2019, signaling positive progress in the education sector.
