A vehicle transporting three persons was sprayed with bullets on Wednesday, leaving a forty-one year old St. Ann man dead, and two others in critical condition, one of whom is a 15-year-old girl.
The police are yet to establish a motive for the attack, but Councilor for the Ocho Rios Division Michael Belnavis is condemning the killing, amid fears the violence will also impact tourism in the town. A forty-one year old man identified as Julian Facey of parry town in St. Ann is now dead after his vehicle was sprayed with bullets along the Ocho Rios by-pass on Wednesday.
A 15-year-old student of the Oracabessa High School and an unidentified person who was also traveling with Facey are now hospitalized in critical condition.
Superintendent in charge of crime for the parish, Dwight Powell says Facey came to a stop, when armed men attacked in another vehicle. Michael Belnavis told CVM Live he’s extremely concerned as this is far from normal for the tourist town, Ocho Rios. Belnavis says the town has recently started recovering from the repercussions caused by covid-19, insisting now isn’t the time for crime. The police have not yet identified a motive for the killing; however they’re urging anyone with information to come forward.
