Objectivity and transparency are the leading pleas of the Opposition in relation to the recent fraud heist at Stocks and Securities Limited. Opposition Leader Mark Golding says it is important that the conduct, decision making and internal arrangements at the Financial Service Commission (FSC), be subject to objective review, by more trustworthy external bodies.
Golding calls for international forensic experts to be used to support local law enforcement efforts, as he scoffs at Jamaica’s track record of dealing with major frauds. Championing the call for transparency from the acting and previous Minister of Finance, Golding notes the importance of rectifying this issue, before it reflects a negative and lasting impact on Jamaica’s image.
