Employees of the Jamaica Customs Agency have been criticizing the Jamaica Civil Service Association, labeling the wage deal signed under the Public Sector Compensation Review “mass confusion”.
Opposition Spokesperson on Finance and Planning, Julian Robinson says the confusion is to be credited to the government’s lack of transparency in the matter. This he says is unfair to the workers, noting the fast-approaching Christmas season.
Robinson stresses it is only fair that the Civil Service Association answers to its disgruntled members. He is calling for clear and direct communication from the government, regarding a timeline for this to be addressed.
Other groups who signed the agreement, including the Nurses Association of Jamaica are also expressing concern and seeking clarification. Watch the report:
