With the upsurge of crime across several parishes, the government has called for additional States of Public Emergency (SOPE) to curb the incidents. However, the Opposition says they are concerned about the effectiveness of the security measure given the increase in crime.
Opposition spokesperson on Labour & Social Security, Dr Angela Brown Burke is calling for an effective crime plan to curb acts of criminality in Jamaica. She says the states of public emergency have not been effective and notes it is significant for the government to think about an effective crime-fighting plan. Watch the report below:
