Opposition Member of Parliament Angela Brown-Burke is commending the government’s decision on face-to-face learning resumption. She says this initiative will be crucial in addressing the learning loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Talking to our reporter, Burke said the decision to resume was long in coming, as the fallout in the country’s education is heavily felt.
Despite welcoming the move, she expresses concerns for the institutions that were not entirely prepared for the resumption of physical learning. Burke says the Education Ministry will need to increase the budget to effectively recover from the learning loss adding that this investment may be critical in guiding the youth from crime and violence.
