Leader of the Opposition Mark Golding has responded to Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ willingness to resume the Vale Royal talks in the new year. The Vale Royal talks last took place on February 27, 2022. The three and a half-hour dialogue was hosted by the University of the West Indies around an agenda which included national security, constitutional reform, health and Jamaica 60 commemorations. At the time Prime Minister Holness was positive about the prospects of the talks contributing to a greater agreement on issues of national importance. It will be the second Vale Royal talks involving Mark Golding, since he assumed leadership of the Peoples National Party in November 2020.
