Residents in Montreal, St. Mary have been blessed by the Rural Water Company, through donations of upwards of eight hundred thousand dollars to replace the area’s solar system, used to pump water to residents.
Drought struck the community when thieves ravaged the previously installed system, leaving the residents without proper access to running water. Now, gratitude floods the heart of Member of Parliament for St. Mary Western Robert Montague, as he thanks the rural water company for their donation of over eight hundred thousand dollars towards the project, and the St. Mary police, for their efforts in detaining a suspect in connection with the robbery.
Some residents lament being forced to walk with buckets to catch water, while others detail the struggle of leaving their community for the precious commodity. Thieves are being urged to desist from repeating their selfish attempts to steal or destroy the water supply system.
