Seprod CEO, Richard Pandohie has resumed production after successfully relocating since the loss of the new port merchandise, Facey commodity limited. This initiative is crucial to sustain lives by providing employment.
Following the devastating fire on October 9 that resulted in the destruction of Facey Commodity Limited on Marcus Garvey Drive, some employees of the merchandise division were gripped with fear losing their income.
However, on Monday, November 8, Mr. Pandohie says the group is showing promising progress post the fire while managing to retain staff. He notes that since the incident the company has been working non-stop with a huge support from the staff and other stakeholders. Pandohie added that the company has subsequently leased a warehouse from the Port Authority, which has given back an equivalent of the space that would have been lost in the fire, he notes that it now in operation.
The Seprod CEO says despite the challenges from the loss of office space and an inventory, the company has since relocated several members to keep products and services operational. Pandohie explains while the business has been hit hard, they will be ramping up production in the short term.
