Parliament Mourns Three Deaths

Parliament Mourns – Members from both sides spoke glowingly of former St Ann Politician and Attorney, Ernest Smith and the wives of two former parliamentarians, who all died recently.

Tributes for Former southwest St Ann MP and Attorney At Law, Ernest Augustus Smith, of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), who passed away in August. Added to the list were wives of two former parliamentarians, Senator KD Knight and retired politician, Dr. Omar Davies.

House speaker Marissa Dalrymple Philibert and members from both sides of Parliament shared happy memories and kind words about smith. His daughter Marsha Smith, now MP for northeast St Ann was in attendance as the tributes heaped.

Meanwhile, the wife of former Minister Dr. Omar Davies, early childhood specialist, Dr. Rose Davies also passed days before the resumption of Parliament.
