Meanwhile, the Parliament on Tuesday, November 16, paused to reflect on the life and work of late politician, OD Ramtallie who passed away at 96. Parliamentarians on both sides spoke glowingly about the man behind the slogan “ram it again.”
He is also been described as a legend and a giant of a man, being a three-term Member of Parliament in Clarendon and a government minister. Tributes for the three-term MP and Minister, the late OD Ramtallie, flowed freely at the start of parliamentary proceedings Tuesday.
Ramtallie passed away on Sunday, November 14. He represented the People’s National Party, (PNP) in myriad capacities and was said to be instrumental in guiding young politicians to success.
The politician whose career spanned decades served the PNP under three Prime Ministers, Michael Manley, PJ Patterson, and Portia Simpson Miller he also served under Chief Minister Norman Manley. Some government members also offered condolences to the Ramtallie family, and those mourning.
