As the nation desires to close the digital divide, residents of Payneland in Kingston are the newest of over 110 communities to benefit from the Universal Service Fund’s free internet and wifi services. Member of Parliament Dr. Angela Brown Burke is encouraging proper and safe use of the internet for both children and adults.
The service is expected to improve the quality of life for residents, especially children who will need to incorporate technology in learning despite the return to face-to-face classes. Speaking at the wifi launch on Sunday, the constituency’s Member of Parliament Dr. Angela Brown Burke is encouraging residents to use the internet for good. She is also reminding parents to monitor their children’s use of the internet and urges parents to not use devices to avoid parenting. Watch the report here:
