According to Education Minister Fayval Williams students grades, 4 through to 6 who were scheduled to sit the Primary Exit Profile, (PEP) examinations in the current Christmas term has been canceled.
Speaking at a Wednesday, October 6, post Cabinet media briefing, the Minister says the focus has been shifted to February 2022. She says alternatives are in place should the new date be disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the disruptions from the pandemic, grades four to six students will have ample time to prepare for the PEP examinations. Minister Williams notes the Ministry has implemented plans in the interim due to rescheduling, she noted that the registration for PEP Six has commenced using the online registration system and closes on October 8, 2021.
The PEP curriculum-based test is set for April 27 and 28 2022. Thereafter the grade four students will sit their performance task on June 29 and 30, 2022 and grade five students will sit their exams on June 8, and 9, 2022. While the ongoing pandemic shows no real ending for anytime soon, the Ministry had previously assured parents and teachers, that much is being done to facilitate students as best as possible.
