Attorney- at-Law KD Knight who is representing former General Manager of Petrojam Floyd Grindley, declares chaos in the prosecution’s case. He says the prosecution has not served the obligated documents to the defense and are asking until January of next year to do so.
The prosecution also served new charges to the accused; another change that Knight says suggests chaos. It was not made clear the new charges the prosecution put forward but Knight asserts that his clients are innocent and remain confident.
Representing former Chairman of Petrojam Percival Bahadoo-Singh, is Attorney-at-Law Bert Samuels. The accused have had their bail extended until November 9. The trial has been adjourned to May 9-22 and May 24-27 of 2022.
Both men are answering to corruption charges. It is alleged that between December 2016 and May 2018, Bahado-Singh fraudulently claimed several reimbursements, and was paid the monies by Petrojam for overseas business trips that he never made. It is further alleged Grindley aided and abetted Bahado-Singh.
