Opposition Says Service Disruptions Should Have Been Addressed Months Ago
Opposition Shadow Minister of Science, Technology, and Information, Julian Robinson says the frequent service disruptions with telecommunications providers Flow and Digicel should have been addressed months ago.
According to him, the delay in responding to the issues is affecting many Jamaicans. It has been decades since Jamaica’s telecommunications industry moved from call boxes to hand held devices. Technology has significantly changed but presently, there are frequent service disruptions and customers appealing to the Office of Utilities Regulation to take action.
This arising from issues from the islands telecommunications providers, Flow and Digicel. Customers say calls are often dropped and they have to dial several times before a successful call can be made.
Opposition Spokesperson on Science, Technology, and Information, Julian Robinson is hoping the matter will be addressed. He says, he too, is affected by the disruptions and is hoping that the meeting with the our will allow for quick changes.
The our recently has instructed digicel and flow to immediately provide their customers with service disruption notifications and updates on restoration time.
