Speaking at the sitting of the House of Representatives Prime Minister Andrew Holness gave a detailed breakdown of the 5.6 million dollar retreat hosted by the Heart Trust NSTA.
Holness says this annual retreat included the institution’s board of directors and senior executives held at the Moon Palace resort in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Opposition Member of Parliament Julian Robinson says in a Covid-19 pandemic this expenditure is excessive. Robinson asserts that the questions were raised not only because of the retreat, but this is symptomatic of a broader problem at the institution.
Meanwhile, Holness notes he is aware that the organization is in need of a strategic review. He says he can assure the opposition that there will be improvements.
