Two families are the latest to benefit from the government’s Social Housing Plan in northeast St Andrew, Wednesday. This move is to help persons who are living in homes that are not up to living standards. The government has so far constructed one hundred and sixteen (116) rooms in forty-six (46) units under this programme, with twenty-six ( 26) more units under construction.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness is bent on increasing the number of houses given to beneficiaries of the government’s Social Housing Programme. He was speaking at a handover ceremony of two housing units in North East, St Andrew. Holness says the government aspires to provide proper housing solutions for all Jamaicans in need and notes that despite the houses coming at no cost, each beneficiary is obligated to be an example to the community.
