PM Holness Defends Chang as Security Minister

Prime Minister Andrew Holness defended his National Security Minister who retained the post despite a cabinet reshuffle. He told the media that Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang has started good work and must remain on board if the changes are to take full effect.

The pressure is intensifying for Security Minister, Dr. Horace Chang as the country’s crime numbers continue to surge.  One prominent clergyman, Dr. Alvin Bailey is calling for Dr. Chang to resign, or be relieved of his duties immediately.

This stems from a recent cabinet reshuffle which resulted in Chang being one of the few ministers to retain his post.

However, Prime Minister Andrew Holness claps back at naysayers and vows to stand by the security minister as he says he’s confident in his abilities to curtail crime and violence.

At the conference, Prime Minister Holness said there’s a solid, long-term plan for fighting crime which Dr Chang has already started executing.

Therefore, he says it would be unwise to remove the minister in the middle of said plans. More details in this report:
