PM Holness Says Controlled Re-entry Has Done Jamaica Good

According to Prime Minister Andrew Holness, the controlled re-entry programme has allowed for the effective management of the number of persons coming into Jamaica, thereby serving the country very well. He says a total of 82,000 applications for re-entry and entry into the country have been processed- 31,000 Jamaicans via the https://jamcovid19.moh.gov.jm website and 51,000 non-residents and visitors via the https://www.visitjamaica.com.

Prime Minister Holness says up to Monday, July 27, approximately 60,000 persons have arrived in Jamaica of which 21,000 are residents and 40,000 are non-residents. An additional 18,000 people have been approved to travel, of that number, 8,900 are residents and 9,900, non-residents. He notes that in the month of June, the country welcomed an average of 5 flights and 410 passengers per day.

For July, there has been a significant increase, with 24 flights and 1,700 passengers arriving per day.
