PM: Poor Remuneration, Lack of Resources No Excuse for Poor Service

Telling it as he sees it, Prime Minister Andrew Holness says poor remuneration and a lack of resources is not an excuse for poor customer service. He says public sector workers should be more responsive to the needs of customers to redefine the service delivery culture. Holness outlined the lack of resources is a valid reason however it’s not an excuse.

He was speaking at the government of Jamaica’s service excellence policy launch Wednesday. This policy will be implemented in all government ministries, departments and agencies to make the vision of a gentle Jamaica a reality.

The Office of the Cabinet will oversee and monitor implementation of the policy. The ministry of finance and the public service will review the proposed structure of service excellence functions.
