The Prime Minister on Tuesday tabled a green, white paper in the lower house outlining the job descriptions and code of conduct for Members of Parliament and Cabinet Ministers. The green paper will invite submissions from the Joint Select Committee of Parliament.
Holness hopes the documents will serve as a guide for the populace on the roles and functions of their political representatives. Reiterating that there has been a code of conduct in the Parliament for some 20 years. He shares much of the previous document will remain guided by input from the joint select committee.
He listed several commonwealth nations currently working through the kinks of their national code of conduct and reminds the process though timely and in some cases approached in a phased manner will require patience. Meantime he highlighted other functions of the joint select committee. Watch the report:
