Leader of the People’s National Party, Mark Golding is repeating the call for an increase in the tax threshold of Pay As You Earn (PAYE) workers. Opposition Leader Mark Golding says it would be the equitable thing to do, as the nation contemplates the massive salary increases being afforded to members of the political directorate.
The discussion surrounding the wage inflation of the political directorate has now assumed an added dimension, with the suggested increase in the tax exemption threshold for the Jamaican PAYE workers.
