St. Vincent and the Grenadines now have the lowest gas prices in the eastern Caribbean, after implementing strategies offered by People’s National Party (PNP) Leader Mark Golding. St Vincent’s Finance Minister Camillo Gonzalves, says these were the same strategies thrown out by the JLP.
Gonzalves says the PNP is what Jamaica needs to become more progressive. Finance minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Camillo Gonsalves says his country now boasts the lowest gas prices in the eastern Caribbean because they followed the recommendations given to the Jamaican government by Opposition Leader Mark Golding.
Golding advocated for the removal of the special consumption tax of 7- dollars and the setting of a cap for energy prices; recommendations that were allegedly rejected by the Holness administration. However, Minister Gonsalves says by implementing those strategies, his country was able to cushion the prices and provide further support for its people. The minister lauded the PNP for his government’s success in many other areas and notes that under the party’s leadership, Jamaica would be a more progressive place. He says the Jamaican people need a compelling developmental plan.
