Police across the island continue on a path of forging meaningful relations with residents of crime-prone communities. Their most recent effort came in the community of Steer Town, St. Ann. The sight of dam head, steer town residents playing dominoes with the police is proof of the relationship that exists. Head of the St. Ann Police Division, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell says they have embarked on a series of proactive community intervention measures in crime-prone areas.
While noting that dam head isn’t currently grappling with crime and violence, he says there have been a number of challenges in the recent past. One resident in particular, wants to see a continued police presence. At the same time, Senior Superintendent Powell is urging citizens to take responsibility for their communities.
