The Police are urging the man being attacked in a viral video to come forward. The Police say they have commenced investigations into the video being circulated on social media in which a woman can be seen physically attacking the man while being cheered on by members of the public.
The video showed the woman assaulting a man while he walked away from her as she yells ‘lick me, lick me’.
The video starts with the female asking the man if she does not have any rights.
It is then seen where another man hands an object to the irate woman as she continues to slap the man and coax him to hit her.
Onlookers added fuel to the emotional fire, cheering and encouraging the female to hit the man.
That same audience began jeering the man who appears to be avoiding any confrontation with the woman.
As the video nears its close the woman strikes the man in his face with the object resembling a piece of board.
Some critics have taken to social media to denounce the violence meted out to the man by the woman, while condemning select groups who have been vocal about attacks against women, but seemingly silent on this matter.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force says they take seriously all matters of assault coming to our attention and will robustly and thoroughly investigate each case, irrespective of gender.
The Police are appealing to the man in the video to make contact with them immediately, in order for the investigations to progress.
The Police are also asking anyone with information about the incident and or who can identify those involved to make contact with the nearest police station or the Police 119 emergency number.
