The Klansman Gang Trial continued in the Supreme Court on Thursday, May 5, with a police witness giving evidence against the alleged gang leader Andre ‘Blackman’ Bryan and his 32 co-accused. The police witness continued analyzing call data records that are said to be critical to the case.
The prosecution in the trial continued its examination of a police witness from the Communication Forensic & Cyber Crime Division, CFCD, who revealed that there was constant dialogue between the defendants and their former crony now turned state witness. Based on call data and subscriber information supplied by the country’s two telecommunications company, the analyst was able to detail the amount of outgoing and incoming calls from numbers associated with some of the 33 defendants on trial.
Four different numbers have been linked to the alleged gang leader, Blackman whose contacts were stored as ‘Teacher’…The defendant Jason Brown had five different numbers attached to his name under his alias ‘City’.
Using an i2 link chart to analyze contact records, the police witness spoke about the period of January to August 2019.
It shows that the crown’s witness contacted one of ‘Teacher’s’ numbers 182 times. Fabian Johnson alias ‘Crocs’ contacted 134 times… City was contacted on one of his numbers a total of 336 times. In one instance the former gangster reached out to the lone female defendant Stephanie Christie also called Mum or Muma -438 times.
Incoming calls to the crown witness’ number were also recorded… ‘City’ contacted him 740 times and Muma called him 514 times.
At the time of these calls, the alleged gang leader was behind bars and City was and still serving a life sentence for murder. The subscriber information showed that sim cards used by the defendants were purchased from several other people. The former gangster turned witness had previously testified that the members changed numbers frequently to remain undetected by the police.
