The political tension is growing following Tuesday’s fiery clash over remarks deemed ‘unparliamentary’ and racist. Political Commentator Kevin O’Brien Chang says the comments on both sides require remedy. ‘Apologies are warranted on both sides,’ said Chang. The testy exchange on Tuesday in the Parliament left Opposition members disgruntled.
While closing the 2023/2024 Budget Debate Minister of Finance and Public Service Dr Nigel Clarke referred to Opposition Leader Mark Golding as ‘Massa Mark’ – this is said to follow a comment by Mark Golding which characterizes the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) as fools. Chang opines the Opposition Leader’s actions are not akin to that of a leader, deeming it an unacceptable statement. Watch the report:
