Families express appreciation for men who honour the role of fatherhood, every third Sunday in June; this year, one particular celebration in Port Antonio, Portland sought to empower them and publicly acknowledge their efforts.
Families showed up at the pre-Father’s Day celebration at the Neville Antonio Park to uplift fathers. It also highlighted the important role they play in Jamaican households. The event hosted by the male empowerment movement sought to outline issues impeding men from being better fathers and role models.
Marketing Manager of the Corporate Credit Union in Portland, Anthony Morrison, says empowering men could lead to a reduced crime rate. Watch the full report below:
