On Wednesday, a team from the Shylocks School of Cosmetology through the Human Employment and Resource Training Trust/National Training Agency (HEART Trust/NSTA), transformed the Portland Divisional Conference room into a makeshift spa.
Police officers and auxiliary workers spent the day being pampered as a ‘thank you’ gesture. Deputy Superintendent of Police in charge of administration Julio Francis says the gesture came right on time. Francis says though the Portland police work tirelessly to rid communities of criminals, they are not paid enough to afford this luxury.
He lauds citizens for their cooperation in fighting crime, thereby making policing more effective. Though Portland boasts the title of the safest parish, DSP Francis is insisting it is no safe haven for criminals. More detail below:
