Prime Minister Andrew Holness is still touring the island in an effort to boost the Government’s vaccination drive, this as Jamaica is yet to receive more COVID-19 vaccines come Friday, November 19, Prime Minister Andrew Holness is reassuring parents to get their children vaccinated as it is safe to do so. He notes as COVID-19 vaccination take-up rates globally have increased, procrastination is unnecessary at this point as there is sufficient information to make a solid decision.
The Prime Minister was speaking at a vaccination drive in Westmoreland on Thursday, November 18. While on a tour of the western end of Jamaica Thursday, Prime Minister Andrew Holness made a stop at a blitz site at Mannings School in Westmoreland. The Prime Minister sought to reiterate that vaccines are fully approved by the World Health Organization, (WHO). This as there remains a high level of vaccine hesitancy.
The Prime Minister further adds that while other COVID-19 vaccines have not yet been made available for children, he is imploring parents to get them vaccinated. He also highlights that the vaccination rates globally have been increasing and there’s more than sufficient information available.
