Principal charged for illegal sale of Clifton lands

It is understood that at least one person has been charged in connection with the sale of government lands in a section of Bernard Lodge, St. Catherine recently. The school principal was charged with breaches of the proceeds of crime act, the law reform fraudulent transactions special provisions, and conspiracy to defraud.

The charges come days after the Prime Minister told Parliament the police will be targeting those involved in the illegal sale of the lands in Clifton. This followed the demolition of illegal structures on the Bernard Lodge farmlands on October 6, and a visit by the Prime Minister to the area.

The residents have since decided to take legal action against the Government of Jamaica.

Meantime, CVM LIVE understands there are at least three other persons of interest being sought in relation to the matter.
