A school in Clarendon received many trees as gifts to sensitize children about the importance of replanting and caring for trees in an effort to make the air cleaner.
Several trees were donated to the Mitchell Town Primary School in Hayes Clarendon early last week in aiding the replanting exercise to reduce the country’s carbon footprint.
Member of Parliament Pearnel Charles Jr. Along with the mayor, members of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica and the new fortress energy group engaged the children on the importance of renewable energy and the benefits of tree planting to their communities.
Charles says getting children involved to cultivate a habit of keeping their environment clean is what builds constructive citizens in the future.
